This year’s ONE MusicFest was a blast! The day was jam packed with great live performances, food and awesome weather. The festival included three stages this year, which catered to both the old and new school crowds, but choosing which performances to catch was a tough decision. The headliner, Lauryn Hill, along with The Roots, Janelle Monae and Wondaland, Bun B, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, A$AP Rocky, SZA, Raury plus more put on a stellar show. Last Thursday I had a chance to check out the Big K.R.I.T. show in Jackson, MS. The line was wrapped around the venue when I pulled up, but luckily I was able to maneuver my way to the front. This wasn’t my first KRIT show, though. My first time experiencing one of his shows was in 2011 at an Apple Store in Atlanta back when he released Return of 4 Eva. The new King of the South has come a long way since “County Sh*t.” The show was great and the city came out to support. Check out the editorial I wrote for RESPECT. and make sure you go and purchase K.R.I.T.’s newest album, Cadillactica.
